Studio Portraits
I think my best photo is photo 5. There was one light to the right. She was standing backwards looking back over her shoulder towards the camera. I took this photo from a straight on point of view. The mood i was trying to convey was exciting or happy. I achieved this by having her smiling. I think I did successfully use the levels to achieve the correct exposure and contrast in all my images. I think photo 3 is my weakest photo because its a little dark. There was one light to the right for this portrait.
Self Portraits
I think my best photo is photo 3. I used natural light coming in through the window to the right of the photo. It is close up and i am holding a camera like i am taking a picture. This photo was taken from a straight on point of view. The mood i was trying to convey was serious. I achieved this by having a serious look on my face and by holding the camera like i was taking a picture. I do think i successfully used levels to achieve the correct exposure and contrast in all of my pictures. I think photo 6 is my weakest photo because the outlet in the background is kind of distracting and it would look better if it was taken from a different point of view.

Photo Essay
My subject for my photo essay is peacefulness I took the first 5 photos in Central Park in New York and the last 5 photos were taken on a Caribbean Cruise. I chose peacefulness as my topic because i found it interesting walking through the park and and the beaches. The concept i was trying to portray about this topic is that whether you are walking through a park or walking along a beach it is calm and peaceful. Visually the photos capture the story of my essay because its shows how calm it is and quiet. I arranged my photos in the order they are in so it seems as if you are walking through the park and then walking through the island or beach. I took all of my photos from a straight on point of view but i used the rule of thirds and had some of the main things in the photos off to the side. Most of my photos were straight on in the middle but i also had some off to the side. The lighting in all the photos is natural lighting from the sun. I kept all of my photos in color because i felt that it was nicer to look at and captured the story better. I visually unified my series of photos because when you look at each photo you can see peacefulness which is what i was trying to show.
